Today marks the beginning of a journey in finally documenting the collection 

of original artwork created by my father, Richard H. Dawson, that 

became mine when he suddenly passed away in 2001. 

My father's artistic endeavors spanned his entire lifetime --- from playing bass guitar 

in a punk rock band in his youth, to recreating the works of Masters in an effort 

to improve his own self taught painting skills, and later in his life even embracing 

new technologies in learning how to create digital art -- my father's path was unique unto him and his perspectives can be seen in the wide swath of work he left behind. 

Here, over time, as they are documented one by one, you will see work that ranges from simplistic and colorful abstracts, to imaginations of a sci-fi space age utopia, his deeply dark representations of what he imaged hell to be, and graceful renditions of beautiful women. 

Richard Dawson worked with oils, acrylics, pastels, pen, ink, digital images 

and he worked on any surface he could find.
